Privacy Policy

Jobshiba ("Jobshiba", "we", "us") is a job-search assistant operated by Alongside Labs Kft. (Budapest, Hungary). This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language; where it touches your Gmail data, we've been deliberately specific.

1. What Jobshiba does

You subscribe to job alerts on LinkedIn, which LinkedIn emails to your Gmail inbox. With your permission, Jobshiba reads those job-alert emails, scores each role against the preferences you set, and drafts a tailored CV and cover letter for the strong matches. You review everything in your dashboard and apply yourself. Jobshiba never applies for jobs, sends messages, or posts anything on your behalf.

2. The data we process

Account data — your name and email address, from the Google account you sign in with.
Your preferences — target roles, locations, industries, languages, minimum match score and the profile summary you write during setup.
Your CV / profile document — the CV or exported LinkedIn-profile PDF you upload, and the structured profile we derive from it.
Job-alert emails — the content of the LinkedIn job-alert emails in your Gmail, accessed read-only (see section 3).
Generated content — the CVs, cover letters and match scores Jobshiba creates for you.
Basic technical data — standard logs needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use Google user data (Gmail)

When you connect your Gmail, you grant Jobshiba the Gmail read-only permission (gmail.readonly). We use it only to do the following:

Read the LinkedIn job-alert emails in your mailbox (filtered to the LinkedIn alert sender) so we can parse and rank the jobs they contain.
We do not read, index or store the rest of your mailbox, and we never modify, send, or delete email.
From those alert emails we store only what's needed to show you jobs: sender, subject, the plain-text body, and a message identifier (to avoid duplicates).

Jobshiba's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it to third parties except as described in section 6, and we do not let humans read it except where you explicitly ask us to for support, where required by law, or as needed for security. We do not use your Gmail data — or anything derived from it — to train, develop, or improve any generalised artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model.

4. Your authentication tokens

To read your job-alert emails on a schedule, we securely store the access credentials Google issues when you connect Gmail. These are kept on the server side only and are never exposed to your browser or to other users. You can disconnect at any time (see section 8), which stops all access.

Beta note: while Jobshiba is in Google's "testing" stage, the Gmail connection automatically expires roughly every 7 days, after which you simply reconnect with one click from your dashboard. We'll flag it there when it's due.

5. Why we're allowed to process it (legal basis)

Under the GDPR, we process your data on these bases: your consent (connecting Gmail, uploading your CV), and performance of our service to you (running your hunt, generating documents). You can withdraw consent at any time.

6. Who we share it with (sub-processors)

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure and AI providers strictly needed to run the service, each acting as our processor (sub-processor) under a data processing agreement:

Supabase — cloud database and authentication (stores your account, preferences, CV, jobs and documents).
Cloudflare — content delivery and network security for jobshiba.com.
Google — the Gmail API from which, with your permission, we read your LinkedIn job-alert emails.
Anthropic (Claude API) — the AI that scores each job against your preferences and drafts your tailored CV and cover letter. The relevant content (your preferences, your CV, and the job-alert / job-description text) is sent to Anthropic solely to produce these results for you.

No AI training. Content sent to our AI sub-processor is processed under the Anthropic Commercial Terms and is not used to train or improve Anthropic's models. We do not build any database of, or permanently retain copies of, your Google user data beyond what is described in section 7. We may disclose data if required by law.

7. Where it's stored and how long

Your data is stored on our cloud infrastructure and retained while your account is active. When you delete your account (section 8), we delete your personal data — including your stored Gmail tokens, uploaded CV, parsed profile, jobs and generated documents — except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations.

8. Your choices and rights

Disconnect Gmail at any time from your dashboard (Settings), or revoke access directly in your Google Account permissions. This immediately stops all email access.
Delete your account and data from Settings, or by emailing info@jobshiba.com.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your data. To exercise these, contact info@jobshiba.com.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian Data Protection Authority (NAIH).

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date at the top. For material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email.
